Production scheduling & throughput
Building schedules that balance machine time, mold changes, curing capacity, and customer demand, and finding where your line is losing hours.
For concrete products producers
Conrady Consulting & Technology brings 27 years in concrete products manufacturing to your operation: production scheduling, mix design, new products, inventory, and the day-to-day work of running a plant. When you need raw materials or equipment, we can help source those too.
Plant operations consulting
Every plant is different, but the pressure points tend to be the same: keeping the machine running, getting the mix right, having material on hand, and keeping people, sales, and the office on the same page. I work alongside your team on the specific problem in front of you.
Building schedules that balance machine time, mold changes, curing capacity, and customer demand, and finding where your line is losing hours.
Developing and fine-tuning concrete mix designs for block, pavers, and wall units, with attention to consistency, appearance, and material cost, backed by in-house sieve analysis and PCF (unit weight) testing for quality control.
Taking a product idea from concept to the production floor: mix, molds, trial runs, and a realistic plan for rolling it out to sales.
Yard and inventory practices, stocking levels, and order flow that keep the right product ready to ship without tying up space and cash.
Planning wear-part orders and maintenance around the production schedule, so you're not caught short or carrying more spares than you need.
Organizing production crews and the operations department, building practical safety and PPE practices, and improving communication between the plant, sales, retail partners, and administration.
Materials & equipment sourcing
Conrady Consulting & Technology holds a seller's permit and can purchase and resell raw materials and manufacturing equipment for producers. If you're looking for a supply source, a piece of equipment, or a second opinion on what to buy, I can help you find it and handle the purchase.
We source inputs and equipment for producers. We don't manufacture or sell finished block, paver, or wall products.
Tell me what you needHelp locating and purchasing the materials that go into your mixes and products.
Sourcing and reselling production equipment, with a plant manager's eye on whether it fits your operation.
Years of ordering raw materials and wear parts means knowing which questions to ask before you commit.
Plant tools & technology
Some of the most useful tools in a plant are the ones built by people who run it. Over the years I've developed calculators and workbooks for quality control, inventory, and scheduling. I can build tools like these for your plant, set up around the way you actually work.
A design mix calculator developed with my team from my mix design knowledge, used to support quality control and keep batches consistent.
A workbook that shows what's on hand and recommends supply levels and what to produce next, based on how each product is moving.
Brings design mixes, mold configurations, product descriptions, and color recipes together in one place, so scheduling decisions start from the right information.
Built new for your operation. Every tool is created from scratch around your products, mixes, and data, so it fits how your plant runs.
Talk about a tool for your plantAbout
I'm George Conrady. I started in concrete products manufacturing in 1999, in operations, cutting block on the block saws and working on the grinder finishing architectural block. Since then I've worked nearly every job in the plant.
I worked my way up into production on the assembly line, then drove a forklift, and then became a machine operator. From there I transferred to dispatch, loading trucks and learning weights and measures. I moved into the inventory department as an inventory control assistant, handling ordering and cycle counting, and later became inventory and distribution supervisor. For the last nine years I've been plant manager.
As plant manager, I schedule production; manage production personnel, inventory, and the operations department; and I'm responsible for plant safety and PPE. I order wear parts and raw materials, create concrete mix designs, and develop new products. I'm also the go-between for the plant and outside sales, retail stores, and administration, which has taught me that the right answer on the floor has to work for everyone else too.
Along the way I've built practical tools to support that work: spreadsheets and calculators for quality control, inventory, and production scheduling.
I started Conrady Consulting & Technology to put that experience to work for other producers and related businesses. It's a new venture and I'm taking it one conversation at a time. If you have a problem at your plant, or something you need to source, I'd be glad to hear about it.
